Time: 3:22 Ismael has always been recognized by his
great performances as vocalist for many of Eddie Palmieri's hits. Also his
extraordinary performances with the Fania All-Stars. In 1970, Ismael signed up
with producer Ralph Lewand UA Latino, who released his first album. Four years
later, Ismael decided to go it alone. He left the Palmieri band to experiment on
his own. At the time, UA was recording many ballad singers, Chucho Avellanet,
Nelson Ned and others, and Ismael wanted to try his hand at recording ballads.
He reached an agreement with producer Bobby Marin to do half of his next album
in ballad style and the other half with a top notch salsa orchestra. Louie
Ramirez arranged the Salsa session while Hector Garrido created the beautiful
arrangements for the ballad sessions. This a great show piece for the many
talents of Ismael Quintana.
